Influence of Ethylene on Indole-3-acetic Acid Concentration in Etiolated Pea Epicotyl Tissue.

چکیده
Indole-3-acetic acid levels are diminished about 50% in 5- to 6-day-old epicotyls of etiolated pea (Pisum sativum L.) seedlings treated with 10 to 36mul/l ethylene for 18 to 24 hr.

Effect of Ethylene Treatment on Polar IAA Transport, Net IAA Uptake and Specific Binding of N-1-Naphthylphthalamic Acid in Tissues and Microsomes Isolated from Etiolated Pea Epicotyls.
The effect of ethylene treatment on polar indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) transport, net IAA uptake in the presence and absence of N-1-naphthylphthalamic acid (NPA) and [(3)H]NPA binding characteristics was investigated in tissue segments or microsomes isolated from etiolated pea (Pisum sativum L. cv Alaska) epicotyls. Basipetal IAA transport in 5 millimeter segments isolated from ethylene-treated s...

An efficient plant regeneration method was established for Caesalpinia bonduc (L.) Roxb. by culturingimmature epicotyl explants. Morphogenic calli were initiated from 96% of epicotyl explants on MS mediumsupplemented with BA (6-benzylaminopurine) 4.0 mg/l and NAA (Naphthalene acetic acid) 1.0 mg/l. The calliformed were excised and subcultured on MS medium fortified with 1 mg/l...
متن کاملDoes ethylene mediate root growth inhibition by indole-3-acetic Acid?
The effects of ethylene and of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) on growth of excised pea root sections have been compared under a variety of conditions. After 16 hours treatment the inhibitory action of IAA is fully reversible on transfer of the root sections to IAA-free solutions. In contrast, inhibition by ethylene is almost totally irreversible. IAA inhibits growth from zero time; ethylene is gene...
متن کاملEthylene formation in pea seedlings; its relation to the inhibition of bud growth caused by indole-3-acetic Acid.
Indole-3-acetic acid stimulates ethylene production in the nodal region of pea stems, and the gas inhibits bud growth. At all concentrations of IAA there is a close correlation between the intensity and duration of ethylene production and the bud inhibition which results. Kinetin reverses the inhibitory actions of ethylene and IAA on bud growth. It is concluded that auxins suppress bud developm...
متن کاملAn explanation of the inhibition of root growth caused by indole-3-acetic Acid.
Low concentrations of indole-3-acetic acid inhibit the growth of pea root sections by inducing the formation of the growth regulator, ethylene gas. Ethylene is produced within 15 to 30 minutes after indole-3-acetic acid is applied and roots begin to swell immediately after they are exposed to the gas. Carbon dioxide competitively inhibits ethylene action in roots, impedes their geotropic respon...
